"Kriti, first, Have your breakfast, and then go to the college." Avinash, Kriti's father, called for her. Kriti flinched and ended the call in anger, saying, "Okay, I will meet you at college. I need to tell you a very important thing."

Kriti came downstairs totally stressed but tried her best not to show it. She hugged her father and said, " Good morning, papa." He caressed her hair and said, "Good morning, my child, and do you wanna eat aalu parathas"

"Ye bhi koi puchne ki baat hai? Offcourse yes, papa," (is this even something to ask) she exclaimed happily, as it was her favourite. She drank some water before approaching a picture on the wall.

She clasped her hands, closed her eyes, and whispered emotionally, "Good morning, Mom. I miss you. Wish you were here today"

Avinash felt a flood of sadness as he remembered his late wife. She passed away in an accident shortly before two years ago. He was already broken at the moment, but he controlled himself for his kids.

She returned to the dinner table and ate a morsel of aalu paratha, saying, "It's so good, Dad. Why don't we open a restaurant?" He chuckled and gave her one more paratha, "No thanks, I already have a company to run" She glanced at him and inquired eagerly,

"Dad, when will Mihir chachu and Isha Chachi arrive? I'm missing Angat too much." Mihir and Isha have a son named Angat. Avinash smiled and said, "They'll be back tomorrow."

"Ohh, and where is Dev? Did he go to the school early?" She asked him while eating paratha. He chuckled and said, "Yes he did and don't worry about him too much. I am here for you both"

"Okay papa," she muttered, and took her backpack to the campus, not before hugging Avinash.

Kriti is Avinash and Ruhi Sighania's daughter. She is just like her mother sweet and smart. She is 19 year old girl who would turn into 20 in some days.

Meanwhile, Shivansh, Jai's father, and Aditi, Jai's mother waited for their son to arrive. Jai Shekhawat had graduated and was returning to India from London.

Aditi was organizing some of his favorite dishes, and Siya, Jai's Chachi, was preparing Karele ka bharta for her nephew. Aditi was constantly inspecting her meal. She glanced at Siya and said, "Siya, please aaj ke liye to Jai ko majboor mat karo ye khane ke liye" (Siya, please don't force Jai to say this at least for today)

Siya shrugged and said, "Arey Bhabhi, jabardasti thode na khila rahi hu. Wo to ye uski marji se khane wala hai," Aditi agreed, making a disgusted look when the fragrance reached her nose. (Hey Bhabhi, I am not forcing him to eat. He is going to eat it as per his wish.)

"Mumma" Durga, Siya's daughter, approached and asked, "Please find me my shoes, na." Siya nodded and followed her. Aditi sighed and continued cooking Kheer. Arjun and Yuvika, Jai's younger Chacha chachi, also arrived with their son, Ayukt. Ayukt had always respected Jai, so he wanted to meet him as soon as he arrived.

The loud sound of firecrackers and some ancient dhols drew their attention. Their gazes shifted to the entrance door, where Uday stood with his grandchild, Jai Shekhawat.

He was no longer that small child who used to play around their house instead he had become a gorgeous 23-year-old man with big shoulders. Medium hairs with a trimmed mustache and beard. His physique was enough to entice any girl. Ayukt and his siblings hugged him as soon as they saw him." Enough, guys. Don't make me emotional." Jai smiled as his small siblings cared for him.

They interrupted the hug as 7-year-old Dhriti, Veer, and Shweta's daughter requested that he carry her up in his arms. Jai happily took her into his arms and asked, "Dhriti, do you know what I got you from London?" She shook her head, innocently.

He took a chocolate bar from his pocket and handed it to her. She yelled with delight and shouted, "Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love you too, bhaiya." She kissed his cheek and moved to the sofa, while Jai grinned and remarked, "But I didn't say I love you."

She slapped her forehead on his foolishness and said, "Arey bhaiya, I knew you were going to say I love you, so I responded to you first."

"Oh," he murmured, amused. He turned to see Shivansh standing next to him. Jai grew overwhelmed upon seeing him and hurried to hug him. Shivansh hugged him back feeling a fatherly feeling of hugging his son. "We're here too, Jai," the ladies teased him.

Jai hugged everyone one by one. Aditi hugged Jai and sadly inquired, "So, how many days again?" Feeling a little bad as he always stay for only 2 or 4 days and go back.

Jai grinned and was going to say something, but Shivansh interrupted him, "Your son has arrived for good, my dear wifey." Aditi's eyes shone as she learned that Jai was going to live with them. She hugged him emotionally while Jai also hugged her back with a smile.

Jai was adopted by Shivansh and Aditi after the death of his parents when he was 3 years old. He used to call them mom dad but in his heart, he was eager to go back with his biological parents. No one told him about what happened to his parents but one day when he was 7 he got to know that his parents were dead and won't come back to him.

Jai was broken with this information but then he thought that maybe Shivansh and Aditi also wouldn't like him to live with them as they had their own biological child, Aarav. He was unhappy about it and started feeling insecure. He was living with the Shekhawat family but he was scared that they would throw him out when they didn't want him anymore.

But Jai had whole heartedly accepted Aditi and Shivansh as his parents when he was 10 years old. It was an incident where he understood how much Aditi and Shivansh loved him.

When Jai was 10 years old,

Aarav was 4 years old. He had an accident where he fell from the stairs and his head was injured. Aditi was taking care of Aarav while Jai was lying on the bed wanting to keep his head on her lap too like Aarav. But he was still insecure thinking that what if he tried and Aditi would scold him. Aarav was injured so it was logical that she'd care for him only at this time.

Jai didn't want to meddle in Aditi and Shivansh's family, but he was eager to get love like every kid was getting from their parents.

Aditi's gaze fell on Jai and she frowned looking at his affectionate gaze. She noticed that he was staring at Aarav who was sleeping in her lap while she was sitting with crossed legs. Aditi carefully moved Aarav's head from the right to the left side and said, "Jai come here"

Jai shook his head innocently and said, "No Mumma, I am okay here"

Aditi glared at him playfully and said, "I said come here"

He lowered his head and went closer to her while pouting. Aditi kept his head on the right side of her lap, "You want to sleep on my lap then just come and keep your head on my lap."

"Mumma," he said, his voice hoarse as he was crying. Aditi panicked when she saw him crying. She waved her hand over his head and asked in concern, "What happened Jai? You okay? SHIVANSH, COME HERE"

Jai shook his head and asked while sobbing, "Mumma, please don't send me to an orphanage. Please mumma, I will be a good boy please"

Aditi was shocked to hear this. She stammered, "What are you saying, Jai? Why would I send you to an orphanage?"

He cried again, "I heard you some days before you were talking with someone saying that you will send me with them to an orphanage. That day, some years ago, I heard that you didn't want me." He looked at her with innocent eyes and said, "Please mumma. I love you so much. I love papa too. I love, grandpa, Grandma, all Chacha Chachi, and all my brothers and sisters. Don't send me to an orphanage"

Aditi realised what he was saying and said hugging him with her one hand emotionally, "Jai, I was not talking about that sweetheart. I mean yes I am sending you to an orphanage but you are going with Kartik Siya and Durga as Durga insisted on going with you. Remember the day after tomorrow, which is Durga's birthday? That's why they are going there. And at that time, I am still guilty my child. I am still groveling for my words. But believe me I never intended to keep you away from me"

Jai smiled very brightly but his tears were still not stopping, "Really mumma?"

Aditi caressed his hair and kept his head on her lap again, "Why would I even send you to an orphanage? You are my child Jai. Agar tum mujhse dur chle gaye to mai kaise jiyungi?" Her eyes became teary as she kissed his head and then she kissed his whole face. (How will I live if you go away from me?)

"You both are my heart. If any of you would go away from me then I wouldn't be able to live" Jai suddenly hugged her waist and said while crying, "Sorry mumma"

"Na bacha sorry mat bolo." She said again kissing his head while caressing Aarav's head. (No baby, don't say sorry)

"Mumma" Aarav groaned, his voice was filled with pain. Aditi looked at him and laid him on the bed and said, "Jai, keep your eyes on him. I'll just come back in just a minute. His fever is increasing by the time"

Jai nodded and started caressing his head lovingly. Shivansh came inside with Aditi and took Aarav in his arms to take him to the hospital.

While Aditi took Jai in his arms and they went to the hospital. When Aditi was inside the hospital room, Shivansh took Jai for lunch.

He looked at his father and thought that maybe he should ask him too, "Papa, will you abandon me in the future?"

Shivansh looked at him in confusion, "You started watching serials with Siya didn't you?" (Siya is Jai's Chachi.)

Jai chuckled as he was really watching too much drama with Siya but then said seriously, "No, I thought that you won't like to let me stay with you as I am just an adopted son "

"Who said this? Tell me the name, I'll kill them." He said dangerously.

"No one said Papa, it's just I thought -" Shivansh cut him in between, "You are thinking too much nowadays. I already told you that you are my child."

Jai smiled and hugged him tightly. Shivansh hugged him back and said, "Enough now, and tell me what flavor of ice cream you want?"

Jai looked at him and asked again emotionally, "What happened with my mumma papa? Why don't anyone tell me?"

Shivansh caressed his head affectionately, "I promise I will tell you but you have to wait " Jai nodded hesitantly.

That day Jai really realized that his parents really wanted him and they would never abandon him in any way. Their care towards Aarav and him was equal. Yes, it could feel to them sometimes that they were prioritizing Aarav more from Jai's POV and it could even feel like they were prioritizing Jai over Aarav but they were really giving them equal love. They were also living their life for the first time. It took some time for to them learn new things and they did.

Jai's POV

Finally, I am here. My home. My gaze fell on the frame of my biological parents. It was always here. Dadi gave me this as my gift when i was young. I was in my room, going through some papers and my gaze fell on Dad. I frowned when he silently sat in front of me. I asked him,

"What happened, Dad?" I was confused because he was too silent. He didn't say anything.

"I want to tell you about your parents." He said as I felt like someone gave me a stick to come out of drowning water. I wanted to know about them from when I was 7 and now finally I am going to know about them.

"Please Dad, tell me. I was waiting for this day." I asked desperately holding my emotions. He gave me papers. I frowned and read them.

"Raj Kakkar. Age 30. Reason of death: Car crash." So, my father's name was Raj Kakkar. Tears gathered in my eyes because I still remember some faint memories of my father. I would have forgotten him but my will to remember them didn't give me the courage to forget them.

"It was a murder" My eyes snapped to him in shock, "M-Murder?" I whispered in disbelief.

He nodded and continued, "He was a great officer. He was about to disclose some secrets about that murderer that's why he-"

"Who was he?" I asked in anger curling my fingers in a fist. Don't worry Dad, I'll kill him. I promised myself.

"Vinod Batra, but don't worry, we all killed him after exposing him." He said as I felt a little relief that my father got justice.

"Mom?" I asked about my mom. He averted his eyes but I felt distress in his demeanor. He was struggling to tell me about Mom. What happened to her that he is struggling to tell me?

"She-" he paused taking a deep breath and then gave me the paper, "Naina Kakkar, 29-year-old. Cause of death, rap-" I paused reading as my breath accelerated. My heart stopped beating for a second reading that word. My hands were shivering reading the cause of her death.

I understood why they were not telling me the reason for my parent's death. Drops by drop, tears fell from my eyes, "Mom" I whispered. I looked at Dad but he was just looking downwards.

"Who were they?" I asked. My voice was laced with immense anger.

"We caught them but they ran away from prison and we didn't find them later" The Veins of my hands popped up as I clenched my fist in a tight ball. How could he lose them after what they had done to my mother?

He sat beside me and rubbed my back to soothe my anger but it was not helping me in any way. I slammed my fist on the table in front of me in anger.

I wanted to kill them, remove them from existence. A door knock made me wipe my tears. As I lifted my gaze, I saw Mom standing infront of me. She came with tea on a tray.

She smiled at me and said, "Don't worry my baby, she got her justice."

I frowned as I wondered what she was saying. Is she talking about my real mom? She explained seeing my confused face, "I killed them"

I choked on the air as I heard that. I mean, WTF? My sweet and cute mother did what?

I heard a sigh beside me. it was dad. Did he know too?

"That means you killed them?" he asked her. Her smile deepened and she nodded furiously. "You should have told me. I was searching for them to kill them" She looked like she was proud to kill them, I mean I am also proud of her that she killed them but how? Her wide smile after saying that she killed someone, sent shivers down my spine.

"Dhruv bhaiya caught them for me and I tore their skin apart," She said very causally.

"You should have called me. I really wanted to kill those moth*******rs. B***ards. ***** ***** *** ******** *******" Shivansh was mumbling in anger. Aditi smacked his head lightly, "Your son is sitting here. Don't use these words."

I looked at Dad to ask for this. Then he told me about her.

My mom was in the mafia and she was famous by her pen name, Star. I am really proud of her. I instantly hugged her to ease my tense mind. I cried hugging her, releasing my parent's worry.

Author POV

Avinash was sitting on the sofa. It was 3 PM. It was the time for Kriti to come back home and then Avinash would have made her favourite dosa for everyone. He heard the door opening. His eyes snapped to that side but he made a disgusting face seeing an unwanted guest at his home.

"Good morning Father in law, Where is Kriti?" He asked with an excited voice.

Avinash gritted his teeth in anger and said, "How did you come here, Jai? I am warning you, stop calling me that and My daughter doesn't like you in any way and she is not the kind of girl who would love a guy like you"

Jai rolled his eyes playfully and said, "Arey Uncle, actually I was just teasing you but don't worry I am not here for Kriti this time. I am here for a serious discussion."

Avinash sat on the sofa without inviting him to sit. Actually, he was still suspicious of his intentions to come into his house.

Jai sat infront of him and asked in a serious tone, "Ruhi Aunty was handling my parent's death case right?"

Avinash's eyes widen in shock, "You know?" He asked in surprise. He gave a sad smile to control his emotions and said, "I know, I just want to know about them more. Does Ruhi Aunty have any kind of information about them?"

Avinash thought about it and told him remembering what Ruhi told him at that time, "Actually she told me once that, Raj and Naina, both were orphans. They were just a normal family too or maybe. I remember that Ruhi was confused as Naina's information was too little like she didn't have any records before she turned 21"

Jai nodded, "I will find out about them on my own" he was dedicated to finding out everything about his biological mother, not because he thought that the Shekhawat family didn't love him but because of his interest in finding out about them.

"Well, why do you want to know about them?" He asked curiously as Jai looked really dedicated to finding them. He was confused about the thing, how did he even remember his parents? Jai was only 3 years old when he lost them. He couldn't remember them.

Jai bit his inner cheek controlling his smile and said, "Because I want to know about my lineage so I can confirm that Kriti and I are not related in any way so I could marry her easily."

Avinash gritted his teeth again in anger and shouted, "She is not going to marry you, stupid man"

Jai chuckled as he loved teasing Avinash. He was very protective of Kriti so Jai loved to tease him. They never talked with each other. Jai loved Kriti from afar, but Kriti didn't even know that he even existed.

Avinash gave him a side eye and said, "Now go away from here. We don't need your welcome."

Jai laughed awkwardly and said, "Umm... I am waiting for Dev. I just remembered I promised him that I'd give him the gift"

Avinash scoffed and asked, "I know for whom you are waiting and do you really think that you would fool me like this." Jai gave him a sheepish smile while he just rolled his eyes.

It was 4 pm. Dev came back home and saw the tension between his father and a man sitting infront of him. they were just staring at each other without saying any words.

Dev went to Avinash and said, "Dad"

Avinash smiled looking at him, "Come here, little boy. See who came here to give you a gift from London."

Dev looked at Jai and frowned because they had never met. Avinash lived a little far away from Shekhawat mansion, and if necessary, he used to go to the Shekhawat mansion on Rakshabandhan by himself for his sister who was married to Shivansh Shekhawat's brother.

He even lost that charm after Ruhi died. He didn't let his kids meet with Shekhawats as he didn't like Jai meeting his daughter. It's not like Kriti didn't know about Shekhawat, she knows from Durga about them but she never met them except Shweta, her Bua.

Jai gently looked at him and took a video game set. Dev gave him a bright smile as that game was very famous in his friend circle. He also wanted to buy it but he was scared to ask his father. It was not like Avinash would have beat him or something but like he didn't want to make his father feel that he was running his mind on other useless things.

Before taking the game set Dev looked at his father in nervousness, "Dad should I take it?"

"Offcourse Dev, after all, your brother has given you a gift," Avinash said sarcastically as he was trying to tell Jai that Kriti is also like his sister. Jai rolled his eyes and muttered enough to be heard by Avinash, "I will marry Kriti. Mark my words."

"In your dreams" He replied to him.

Suddenly they heard the voice of the door opening and saw Kriti coming inside with Durga, Kartik, and Siya's daughter with her. She is Kriti's bestfriend. They both study in the same college. Kriti studied in the second year and Durga in the first year.

"Durga, I am telling you please think about it. it's really a-" Kriti's gaze fell on her dad and she frowned, "Dad what are you doing here? Didn't you go to the office?"

Avinash hugged her and said, "No, I was working from home today." Kriti nodded while Durga also greeted Aviansh, "Hello Uncle"

"Hello beta and come sit with us. Jai is also here." Avinash said with a smile.

Durga frowned and looked here and there, "Where Uncle? I don't think that he would be here. He just comes home at the dawn."

Avinash looked in the direction of Jai and saw that he was still standing there. Avinash was facing his back so he said, "Hello Jai, we are here"

Jai squeezed his eyes and turned around slowly hiding his face. Kriti was trying to see his face because it looked a little familiar to her. Avinash frowned and said, "Oh hello, what are you doing? Why are you hiding your face behind your hands?"

Jai slowly removed his palm from his face and smiled awkwardly, looking at Kriti. Kriti's eyes widened, seeing the face she had never wanted to see in her life. She lowered her head in panic and grabbed Durga's hand and dragged her upstairs to her room.

Avinash frowned looking at her behaviour but shrugged saying, "Jai come sit here and keep this in your devil mind that go away from here just after these snacks and yes keep your eyes away from my daughter"

Jai nodded playfully but glanced at Kriti's room. He smirked and thought, "Kriti, maybe destiny also wants us to end up together."

Dev came downstairs after he freshened up and sat beside Jai.

Meanwhile,

"Durga, is that pervert your brother?" Kriti asked in urgency.

Durga frowned but anger rushed through her veins as Kriti mentioned her brother as a pervert, "What do you mean by pervert huh? My brother is not that kind of man okay. Don't you dare call him like that"

Kriti rolled her eyes and said, "I am not saying pervert to him but you yourself said that to him"

Durga slapped her forehead saying, "Are you mad Kriti? When did I even say that?"

Krit grabbed both her shoulders and said seriously, "Remember I told you about a man I met 6 days ago in London?"

Durga nodded and asked totally confused, "Yeah but what is his relation with my brother?"

"There's a direct relation baby and believe me I want to kick him on his ass. That man I told you. That pervert is your brother" Kriti said gritting her teeth in anger.

There's going to be many more stories in this whole book.

And think about it, Why did Kriti call Jai a pervert?

And I changed the prologue a little so please reread it. Actually, I was going to make Kriti as submissive and you know innocent and dumb but then I fucking remembered that she is Ruhi Singhania's daughter. She can't be like this. Her and Avinash's genes are going to rock and leave you in bewilderment...
